Our Blog - Enclos Paroissial of Saint-Servais

Saint-Servais was one of the first parish enclosures that we visited, and unfortunately, it was not open when we were there. Someone who was working within the enclosure offered to go get the key from city hall but we didn't want to bother her. We attempted to get back there on the day it was open but didn't make it there. We'll have to try again next time we are in the area. But we did get a few pictures of the exterior. The church is known for the exceptional architectural quality of its bell tower and its ossuary. The nice person who spoke to us also told us that it had just gone through a restoration and the interior was magnificent.

The bell tower and calvary date from the 17th century. The Gothic bell tower has 2 galleries and 2 bell chambers. The ossuary with the steeple is from 1643. The large granite building has a Renaissance-style façade pierced by a sculpted door and five semi-circular bays.
